The Dutch soprano  Annemarie de Jong, residing in Norway, received her first musical training at the Streekmuziekschool in Vlaardingen and with Jo Bollekamp in Rotterdam. In 1989, she successfully passed the entrance exam at the Rotterdam Conservatory and began her classical solo singing studies, coached by Trudie Koeleman. In 1996, she graduated as musician in classical singing and soprano soloist.

She attended masterclasses and lessons with Carolyn Watkinson, Caroline Kaart, Aafje Heijnis, and Eugenie Ditewig. In 1997, she started her teaching practice in Harderwijk and was contracted as a classical singing teacher by the regional music school NW Veluwe. As a teacher at the regional music school, she organized large student evenings at the cultural center and the Grote Kerk of Harderwijk, establishing herself as soprano soloist, vocal pedagogue and choir director.

She collaborates on concerts both nationally and internationally. Her young, high, and serene voice has not diminished over the years but has gained warmth and depth. Annemarie sings all music that speaks to her in some way. During performances, she places everything in service of the text and, through her diverse repertoire choices, has developed into a convincing crossover soprano.

In addition to her solo career and teaching practice, Annemarie has led choirs and vocal ensembles in various formations over the years, including children’s, women’s, men’s, and mixed choirs. In 2011, she started her own vocal ensemble, Annemarie & The Pilgrims Voices, and formed “Passione,” an instrumental accompaniment ensemble made up of professional musicians. In September 2016, Annemarie began the choral conducting application course at the Utrecht Conservatory, which she successfully completed in June 2017.

In 2023, Annemarie emigrated to Norway to expand her solo career in Scandinavia.
